These notes are for my psychology class; I'm only posting this because I want to save it somewhere for future reference, and thought it'd probably(?) be interesting information for some of you. Otherwise, please disregard this post, tyvm. Stimulants - causes increased heart rate and decreases oxygen absorption. Presents with hyper behavior/restlessness; aggressiveness/impulsive behavior; strong alertness and clarity; can be used as an appetite suppressant (which is why these drugs have been used mainly by women to lose weight) and may cause insomnia. Ex.) cocaine, caffeine, Ritalin, meth, sugar, amphetamines, nicotine. Depressants - causes
